The neatMon Bluetooth Interface enables users to connect directly to neatMon Automated Monitoring Nodes via Bluetooth for diagnostics, configuration, and command input.
Note:
Bluetooth functionality is supported only on Cellular Nodes.
Firmware Requirement: This functionality requires the latest firmware installed on the node.
Tools & Requirements
Before beginning, make sure you have:
- A Cellular neatMon Node with the latest firmware supporting Bluetooth functionality.
- A mobile device or computer with Bluetooth capabilities.
- A Serial Bluetooth Terminal application.
The following app has been tested and verified to work:

🟢 Beginner level — pairing and connection typically take only a few minutes.
1. Initial Pairing
Before pairing, it’s important to reset the neatMon device. The device will immediately enter normal processes after 5 seconds, so be sure to have the app ready to connect and review the following steps carefully before attempting.
- Hard reset the neatMon device.
- This ensures the node begins broadcasting immediately after startup.
- Within 30 seconds of the reset:
- Open the Bluetooth settings on your user device.
- Select “Pair new device.”
- Choose the neatMon device from the list.
The name will appear similar to nm-123AB (where 123AB is the device’s short GUID).
- Once paired successfully, the neatMon device will now be available to Bluetooth serial applications.
2. Connecting via Serial Bluetooth Terminal
After the initial pairing, follow these steps to connect to the neatMon node:
- Open the Serial Bluetooth Terminal application.
- Navigate to the Devices section on the left-hand side.
- Select the neatMon device from the list and tap Connect.
- Once connected, the application will switch to the Terminal view.
- Type
c or C in the terminal and press Enter to request the menu.
- Wait until the main process has fully initialized before entering further commands.

If you experience issues pairing or connecting:
- Verify that your neatMon node has the latest firmware.
- Ensure your neatMon node is a Cellular Node and has Bluetooth enabled.
- Make sure to reset the device and attempt pairing within the 30-second broadcast window.
